Not sure what new mask I should get. I have it narrowed down to the Proflex or Proteus 2. I've heard good things about both especially the proflex for bouncing.
Like other people checking out the Proflex, the soft ear foam sounds a bit scary. Not so much pain, (I'm not a wuss) but the fact that I've heard from players that when they've gotten shot in the ear it would be ringing for quite some time after. Maybe they didn't have the foam spacers correctly? It's scary because I really don't want to lose a little bit of my hearing from a paintball shot. (In the unlikely event of the ball hitting just right that it forces enough air pressure into your ear) I had a Spectra mask before so earshots didn't matter before.
That's basically my only concern, but I'm wondering if anyone has used either and which they would prefer.

proflex, soft ears wont allow any permanent damage to your ears and can pretty much save the game for you.
